who we are

Our Mission

We believe that education and public safety are paramount to a successful recreational cannabis industry. We value honesty, integrity, and building relationships. We also value enjoying the work we do.

We are focused on the long-term potential of this developing industry. When new markets emerge, we want to be on the front line, tackling the method development. We want to be a major player in creating unified methods that help the industry expand and bolster its legitimacy.

To achieve this, we volunteer our time to professional organizations such as the Oregon Cannabis Commission, AOAC Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP), and ASTM D37 Committee on Cannabis.

Extraordinary Experiences

From developing methods from scratch, to optimizing workflow efficiencies to increase net revenue, we have played a role in every aspect of operating an analytical laboratory. We want to use this experience to help our partners build industry leading businesses.

We have validated labs in multiple states and have intimate familiarity with the ISO 17025:2017 standard. Each state that comes online brings a new set of rules and regulations. We thrive off this challenge and enjoy working on the cutting edge of the industry.

Our Core Values

We value trust, transparency, and teamwork.

Adam Floyd

Adam Headshot-03

Adam holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from CSU Sacramento and has over ten years of professional experience in the cannabis industry with previous roles at Vermicrop Organics, General Hydroponics, The Hawthorne Gardening Company, PerkinElmer, and Think20 Laboratories.

During that time he directed research and development of new commercial products to support cultivation, established methods used for residual solvent and terpene analysis in cannabis flower and extracts, and directed operations at a compliance testing laboratory.

Adam frequently engages in public speaking opportunities in the cannabis laboratory space and is a prolific writer on the subject. He is also the founder of SoilWorks, a comprehensive plant tissue and soil analysis laboratory. Adam’s current research interests include terpenes, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry.

Ben Armstrong, Ph.D.

Ben headshot-18-02

Ben began his scientific career in 2004 through research at the Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota. Focusing on genetic and biochemical analysis of molecular pathways provided an opportunity to learn a wide range of scientific techniques. He went on to receive his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Oregon in 2016.

His career in analytical laboratory testing begin in 2017 as he was brought on to develop an LC-MS/MS method to test for pesticide residues in cannabis flower and extracts to meet the Oregon State regulations. He was quickly elevated to Laboratory Director and managed all aspects of the compliance testing laboratory for the next four years. During that time Ben developed and collaborated on methods for residual solvent and terpene analysis, a pesticide method to meet the rigorous Canadian standards, as well as presented at meetings for the American Society of Mass Spectrometry and AOAC.

Ben is actively involved with the Oregon Cannabis Commission, AOAC Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP), and ASTM D37 Committee on Cannabis.
